All documents are encrypted at rest with AES-256, the Advanced Encryption Standard with 256-bit keys — the strongest commercially available symmetric encryption, used by the Reserve Bank of India for critical financial data and by the Indian military for classified communications. Each document is encrypted with a unique data encryption key, which is itself encrypted with a master key stored in a separate key management system. Even in the hypothetical scenario of a storage breach, documents remain unreadable without the decryption keys.

DigiLocker Integration
